Decorative Placemats by Sandra McFarland

We at The Kellogg Collection are excited to feature the new laminated placemat designs by a talented artist friend, Sandra McFarland. They make a nice addition to our lines of products that can be customized.

The placemats are modeled after the popular English lacquered hardboard mats, but Sandra’s thin, laminated versions can be easily washed, stacked and stored. They are intentionally smaller than most standard placemats, so flatware can be placed to their side, as we have featured in our DC store:

Here’s some of Sandra’s own place settings:

Sandra says she got her start unintentionally, after she made a few as Christmas and wedding gifts for friends. And then her friends started requesting more of them, and it grew from there. We are proud to be among the first retailers to offer her work, which feature antique images of botanicals, fish, shells and landscapes. They all evoke vintage decoupage design.

Customers can also order monogrammed placemats, which make wonderful gifts.

We have found that the placemats are versatile for any occasion. “Not only can you use them in the garden or the kitchen, but you can also use them in the dining room,” Sandra says.

The classic-design placemats retail for $85 for a set of 8, or $100 for 12. The monogrammed mats sell for $135 for 8, or $150 for 12.
